This is supposed to be a dark picture, but I can't really tell just how dark it is on this monitor. AARGH.

my OC Ensam

The water felt cold in her hands and freezing when pouring down her throat. It felt so good in her warm body. The moon mirrored itself in the dark water of the lochan and she could see her own image in there. It seemed far away, almost sinking deeper into the infinite black depth.

Something moved in the distance and she looked up. At first she couldn't see anything at all except for the star speckled sky, the moon and the water reflecting it all from beneath. But her eyes adjusted quickly now and soon she could make out details in the spruces on the other side of the water. Grass and fen(peat?) lay still around the edges of the large mirror lake forming blind spots in the reflected sky. There it moved again. A large moose? No, it didn't move at all like that. It was more graceful, determined and.. moving towards her.
She was mesmerized by the two large black eyes fixating on her.

Not a sound fled the water when he waded through it, but she didn't notice. She didn't even think about how he could just walk straight across the lurking depth. She could only see his beauty. Long curly mane draped his face. His black coat glimmering blue.
Somewhere deep inside she heard a warning. It was murky, almost rustling. But he was stronger and so close now.
Standing in the water right in front of her, forcing her to bend her neck and look up. He lowered his head and she reached out her hand.

A mild snort escaped his nostrils. His breath felt cold against her skin. Just as the water had.

This is beautiful. A little dark on my monitor though. But gorgeous nonetheless. :heart:
The story behind it is really great too. :aww:

at first I just thought the whole picture was black, that's how it appeared in teh preview. But when I full viewed I saw the horse ^^

Question: Is he an Each Usige? I'm asking because, from teh story so far, that's what it sounds like. (Did that make sense? ^^;)
Love the story so far ^^

Nah, the thing is that my monitor is darker than most, so I have to guess what others see >_<

Hehe. Maybe I should make it a little lighter.

Each Usige would be the closest way to translate it. In Sweden the creature is called "Bäckahäst" (something like "brook horse" or "water horse") but the myths are almost the same. Just a few details but they wary depending from different parts of the country.

Well it looks fine on my computer, it may have also been the angle I looked at it ^^;

Ah coolness! ^^ I love reading myths like that so I guess you could say I'm a geek :XD: yeah good point, since Each Usige's are mainly in teh Scotland/Ireland area.

Ooo, pretty kelpie! I made a black water horse years ago - I had him looking like a big Percheron. I like your imagining of the faerie-creature very much. :heart:
